iPod prophecies

My friend John recently posted about a fun iPod game that turns your mp3 player into a $300 Magic Eight Ball.

The instructions are simple: set your iPod to “shuffle” and use the songs to answer the following questions. No cheating!

How does the world see me?
Will I have a happy life?
What do my friends think of me?
Will I have a happy life?
What do my friends think of me?
How can I make myself happy?
What should I do with my life?
Will I ever have children?
What is some good advice for me?
How will I be remembered?
What is my signature dancing song?
What is my current theme song?
What song will play at my funeral?
What type of men/women do you like?
What is your day going to be like?

Of course by now, you’re probably dying to know what results I obtained when I tried this little game myself. I’m not a very superstitious person, and I generally don’t have much truck with astrology, fortune-telling, or other supernatural methods of prediction. But I have to admit: my results were surprisingly, and eerily, appropriate. See for yourself:

How does the world see me? “A Feckless Speck Amid The Faceless Masses” by Creed

Will I have a happy life? “Outlook Hazy” by Danny Prognosticator’s 8-Ball Band

What do my friends think of me? “Self-Absorbed Narcissist (Creative Writing remix)” by the Solipsistics

Do people secretly lust after me? “Don’t Kid Yourself” by Reality Check (UK)

How can I make myself happy? “Drugs And Crossword Puzzles” by the Prescriptive Grammarians

What should I do with my life? “Invest In Real Estate” by Sound Advice From Your Parents’ Creepy Bachelor Friend (feat. Busta Rhymes)

Will I ever have children? “Shut It Down” by Indiscriminate Vascectomy

What is some good advice for me? “Expect The Best, Settle For Less” by Positive Outlook Emporium

How will I be remembered? “Always Good For A Favor, Except When He Wasn’t” by Damn The Torpedos With Faint Praise

What is my signature dancing song? “Koyaanisqatsi (slow version)” by Phillip Glass

What is my current theme song? “Bad To The Bone” by George Thorogood

What song will play at my funeral? “Theme From ‘Perfect Strangers’”

What type of men/women do you like? “Appearances Matter” by the Superficial Pragmatists

What is your day going to be like?
“High-Concept Satirical Blog Entry (Aphex Twin remix)” by Johnny Fuckface & the Trying-Too-Hards

I liked the first album by Reality Check (UK), but their sophomore effort was rubbish. Check out the review in Ibid. Magazine.
