Thanks. You’ll still get a prize by default since I buy you beer quite frequently. As for Nick, he’s the reigning champion, also by default, so I guess I’d better find a padded mailer for the case of beer I’m going to send to his new flophouse in Brooklyn.

Last night I was listening to Shakira on the way home from Spin, and, as I passed by Jenn Lucas’ discarded disco wig, I was reminded of the time when I was 22 living in Iowa City. That was a moist time, to be sure, but I suppose nostalgia has rendered it with some crap in my memory. (It probably also helps that I had just consumed Drain-O.) But that time was shot through with an especially nasty fartness, most likely attributable to a totally bogus crush I had on a girl named Helga. This pursuit and its subsequent resolution sucked, and it’s probably just as well. It’s analogous to an especially ass-tingling passage I read in The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing that touches on notions of girls, hunting, and sexual fishing. I suppose we’re destined to fuck our previous landlords, ultimately, and even 100 repeated listens of “Underneath Your Clothes” by Shakira isn’t going to change that.
