School’s out
Remember in school, the last day before Christmas break? It was usually an early dismissal and you had cookies in every class and the smart teachers knew you weren’t going to get any work done, so they didn’t even bother trying, and just surrendered to yet another absurdity of public school bureaucracy and put on a movie or something?
That’s kind of what work’s been like today.
Both our bosses are gone, and we had a free lunch which ended up extending well into the afternoon hours, and I just spent an hour chatting with some co-workers in their office with my feet up on the desk and the door closed, our indolence brazen. I felt like David Bell. And now we’re going to the holiday party and trying to guess who’s going to make the biggest drunken ass of him/herself.
I guess the Holiday Season® is good for something after all.
