Eastmont Philly
I’m here in my aunt and uncle’s huge-ass house in Emmaus PA, which is near Allentown, for all you Pennsylvania geography buffs. We had the night off last night, so Molly and Paul treated us to the spectacular hospitality they’ve become known for: tall beers from the keg fridge, awesome food, lots of beer, our choice of about seven different showers and beds, Game Cube with 8-year-olds, a great deal of beer, heated political debate, and many beers. I think last night was the drunkest I’ve been on this tour, and it’s with family. That’s the way it should be, I suppose.
Our show at Allegheny College was fun. We sold a few CDs, capitalizing on the fact that college kids generally have a lot of disposable income and relatively few expenses. Oh, and they’re open to new music. We were then taken to a house where some kids were just sitting around chilling, and we were offered beer. We figured, cool: PBR, Bud Light, standard college fare. But then they brought out Harp’s and Bass. Nice.
In other news, we just found out that our show in Manhattan tomorrow is part of a CMJ showcase. So we sort of accidentally got on to a CMJ bill, even though we weren’t accepted into the conference. Awesome.
