Waiting for the universe
Had a good weekend. It started with a dinner with my mother and Margaret that was pleasantly hijacked by Zeb, Ransom, and Angie. Ended with a bizarre but therapeutic rehearsal with my old, all-but-defunct band Racecar Radar. In the middle there somewhere was a classic night at the Deadwood. Also, solidified the spring plans for Nolan. Looks like we’re opening for the at the end of the month, with more dates to follow.
Good things right now:
• Reading Meat Is Murder by Joe Pernice
• Collaborating with and a Yamaha keyboard to annoy the fuck out of
• Listening to the audiobook of Dude, Where’s My Country?
• Lying in bed on a Saturday morning, not hungover, listening to NPR
• Feeling old after seeing former students at the Deadwood
• Learning new drinking games, like Landmine
• The fact that Leah is moving back to Iowa City
• Convincing one’s girlfriend to renounce Grinnell Disco
• Anything by Kool Keith
