Prescription: Iowa
Right now I am suffused with equal parts disbelief, joy, and pride about the . It’s hard to believe that only fifteen years stand between the that colored my teenage years, and this.
This should give the Iowa/Midwest/flyover-bashers pause, for at least a little while.
In honor of this momentous occasion, I am going to listen to Reverend Lovejoy’s 2001 smash hit single, “Prescription: Iowa.”

It’s an incredible day. I’m always going to remember the moment I found out. Yay for Iowa!

I remember all those conversations we’ve had over the years in which we’ve discussed how people have dissed/ made fun of us for being from Iowa/the Midwest…..It’s an great day to be from Iowa!

I called my mom yesterday and brought up the gay marriage decision, not fully knowing what to expect. Her reaction was perfect. She supports the decision 100%. I proud of Iowa, but I am also proud of my mom. Now, I have yet to ask my dad what he thinks, as I know that it would not be a pleasant conversation. Oh well, at least he has his integrity.

Hi Jake,
Beautiful image. Liked your post. Stumbled onto your site because I’m trying to find a covert way to get into your Loft class on blogging. Which like everything else, I discovered too late and don’t have a conventional way of gaining access to.
I’ll send you a separate email in a moment to plead my case. If I can figure out how to do that.
For now, wanted to share this with you.
Hope that’s acceptable blogger protocol. See, this is why I need your class :)
