A partial list of the terms I’ve prohibited myself from using in future reviews

I realize that eliminating all of these words from my verbal palette vocabulary will make it pretty difficult for me to continue writing reviews. I’ll clean out my desk and be gone by the end of the day.

Or visceral. You like that word. A lot.

That’s my point. I’ve exhausted my lifetime quota for these words, so I’m placing a moratorium on them.

I like how all of these words (some of them actually useful) are on the same list as “blissed-out”. I’ve never heard you say “blissed-out”. If I had, I would have called you gaytarded. Hmm. I think I may have exhausted my lifetime quota for the word “gaytarded”.

You should continue to use “braggodocio”, a word I still have to spell-check by typing it in on Google every time I use it.

This list of words eliminates the possibility of you ever writing about Sigur Ros.
Not that you were going to.

This should be a word-recycling program–you give away ones you’ve used forever, and somebody else can take them. (Like, “plangent” is new to me, so I’ll take that one.) Then years later you’ll see your word in Goodwill or something and be like “Oh yeah! That was a great word. Maybe I’ll start using it again now!”
I should probably get rid of “actively” (as in “I don’t actively hate my job”)–does anybody else want that?

Philip: I will try to use that word more, though I do admit I prefer your variation on it, .
Jenny: You’re welcome to all of these. I will begin browsing your blog for words I might want.

Jake: I’m startled and pleased at such a good memory of my large vocabulary of made-up words. And since you’re one of my blog’s most valued readers, I’ll have you know that my URL has changed to . A bit pretentious, I know, but you may remember me as a pretentious person. It’s a “new” blog, but rather than abandoning my old one, I’ve taken the Itchy and Scratchy approach to revitalizing my work. You could call the changes I’ve made to the site “Poochie”. I apologize for the ten to fifteen seconds of typing you may suffer as you edit your blogroll to reflect these changes, but I felt the Public Radio connection was getting a little stale. Now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s four in the morning, and little boys need their rest.
