L’chaim!

On Saturday night I attended the annual “I Can’t Believe It’s (Not) Hannukah!” party, which has pretty much become my favorite holiday party.

Three Gentiles act out the Hannukah Story with puppets, while Ethan (off-camera) narrates

Jim is astonished by the Hannukah Story, while Ryo remains unconvinced

Red wine + white couch = absolutely brills!

Doortrick alums: an exclusive fellowship

More kosher fun here.

UPDATE: My Hannukah gift to my hosts was a CD of a song by a band called the Hypocrites. They were a Jewish punk band and they were huge at Grinnell College in 1994. It’s worth a listen if you like your Jewish folk music with an edge, which I’m almost certain you do.

That fellow Jim has the best ‘astonished’ look I have ever seen. I want a t-shirt with that image on it.

Indeed. Jim has the most amazing facial expressions; that’s why I often refer to him as America’s Jim Carrey.

$1,000,000 to photoshop a little of the holiday cheer out of my face, good sir. Also, the most recent entry with the pic of your computer makes me ever so sad I’m gone from 330 and the snow. NOT. (I bet you don’t miss the thumping sounds of the Clash dance party above your head.)

Dear JP – Nell turned me onto this posting. This is certainly an unepected honor. I am feeling some resonation with the realm of the pseudo-celebrity upon having entered the digital kosher blogosphere. I will be sure to pass this along to the rest of the band with whom I still know how to contact. L’Chaim!!! – Xander (played guitar for the Hypocrites).

ps – Any hope of seeing some Vivid posted here anytime soon? Maybe a passably appropriate holiday or new years anthem?
